The LSU Plugin has been developed in connection with the Light Structures Unit (LSU) at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Innsbruck, headed by Dr. Günther H. Filz.

Its main functionality is the generation and simulation of tensegrity and truss structures within the Rhino/Grasshopper environment. The plugin enables architects, engineers, and researchers to explore innovative lightweight structural systems based on tensegrity and truss principles.

The mathematical and algorithmic foundations of tensegrity components are derived from the book:
Computational Modeling of Tensegrity Structures
by Buntara Sthenly Gan (Springer).

The LSU Plugin provides a framework for studying, analyzing, and developing structural forms grounded in the principle of force equilibrium in tensegrity and truss systems. It is intended as a tool for both research and teaching in the fields of architecture, lightweight structures, and computational design.
