IDEA StatiCa for Grasshopper provides tools to create and modify IDEA Open Model and interact with IDEA StatiCa Structural Design Applications, such as IDEA StatiCa Connection.

The IDEA StatiCa Grasshopper plugin consists of the following primary parts:

Components to generate IDEA Open Model (IOM). These components are used to facilitate:

• Create, Import or Modify IDEA Open Model.
• Custom FEA Conversions directly in Grasshopper. Such as FEA > IOM or IOM > Tekla or Revit
• Geometric display and explicit modelling of members, plates, bolts, cuts, and welds to model even the most geometrically complex steel connections.

Components to generate IOM are API agnostic, and therefore do not require a license of IDEA StatiCa and are FREE to use.

Components to interact with IDEA Design Applications, such as IDEA StatiCa Connection. These components are built on top of design application API's and used to:

• Create, open, modify and calculate design app project files, such as IDEA StatiCa connection projects (.ideaCon).
• Get and update geometry and components.
• Apply user-defined templates.
• Get and update user-defined parameters to perform optimisation and sensitivity studies of connections.
• Run the calculation and extract the results.
• Export design reports (Word, PDF), fabrication cost information, and physical BIM information in IFC. 

Components that interact with the IDEA StatiCa design applications require an active license of IDEA StatiCa with API access. You can activate a TRIAL of IDEA StatiCa here.

Versioning

• Versions now match the release version of IDEA StatiCa. In most cases, you can use an older version of the plugin with a more recent version of IDEA StatiCA; however, for best compatibility, it is recommended to use the same version of IDEA StatiCa that matches the plugin version you are using.

Older version history:

• Versions 0.2.5 and greater will work with IDEA StatiCa versions > 25.1.0
• Versions 0.2.4 and greater will work with IDEA StatiCa versions > 25.0.5
• Versions 0.2.0 and greater will work with IDEA StatiCa versions > 24.1.0
• Versions 0.1.# will work with IDEA StatiCa version < 24.1.2
