This is one of a few buildings I've been meaning to upload. My main idea is that people might need buildings to place into the background of their render/context scenes. Since the home is so basic it might be good for that. If it doesn't quite fit you can actually distort the entire house (see picture) with just a couple clicks - I know that's just a basic Rhino feature but it still blows my mind. Other uses might include: Practice rendering, setting up layouts, you can check out a few of my approaches - don't take any method/technique too seriously as this is kind of an evolution and included a few tests... and one or two late nights. This however is very close to my Rhino Architectural workflow.

As mentioned I had to purge the textures out to shrink the file size. "SynchronizeRenderColors" is your friend especially when working with D5. Most workflows with the render engines I've used benefit from having at least place-holder materials. The materials from the PDF are from AmbientCG.com (great site!!). I *think* my texture mapping should still be in place too - you may have to set the textures to mapping channel 1 after you import. There might be an easier way but I just do this: 1) Assign the material to a layer, 2) select an object on that layer and go to "Properties:Texture Mapping", and 3) click on the "click here to fix this automatically" when you get that yellow background message coming up. If there's a faster way to do this please let me know! Same goes for if it doesn't work.

I've included some basic visual styles - They're just rendered mode-based with one having shadows using Ambient Occlusion and the other two using custom lighting. The custom lighting shadow settings will be very system specific and I'm just getting used to the settings myself. Once you get the hang of adjusting the shadows you can get really good output similar to Revit/Sketchup (in some ways even better!!). Be warned though the shadows do take a bit of grunt so maybe skip importing those if you have older hardware.

As always don't be afraid to complain if you think something could be done better. I might not improve this upload but I'll for sure consider it for future projects.
